ANC Updates

The dust has settled and most of the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners (Commissioners) are duly voted and seated.  A record 345 Commissioners are expected to populate 46 Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs).  Congratulations to our newly elected Commissioners!  They are functioning within their affected Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs), in accordance with the ANC and SMD Boundaries.  Remember that the boundaries of the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs) and Single-member Districts (SMDs) of the District of Columbia are updated every ten years, based on the results of the latest decennial census.

Unfortunately, not every vacant ANC SMD seat has been filled.  As a result, the DC Board of Elections (BOE) is efficiently facilitating the vacancy filling process.  Whenever the BOE is aware of an ANC SMD vacancy, it promptly publishes the vacancy in the DC Register.  You may view information on any vacant ANC SMD seat online at https://www.dcregs.dc.gov. Within three (3) weeks of the publication in the DC Register, each interested resident is encouraged to obtain petitions from the BOE and solicit the necessary 25 signatures from his/her Single Member District. If you have any questions, contact the BOE at District of Columbia Board of Elections - Official Site or at 202-727-2525.
